Tim Moore: Welcome back to Christ In Prophecy. Nathan and I are glad you’re here. Last week, Jonathan Cahn shared insights from his book, Return of the Gods. He explained how ancient pagan gods have essentially been resurrected in modern-day America, not merely through an influx of immigrants from lands that still worship false gods and pagan deities, but also by a conscious effort on the part of some to reject the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Nathan Jones: Many of you are familiar with Jonathan Cahn. He serves as the lead pastor and rabbi of Beth Israel, a large messianic congregation in Wayne, New Jersey. He was identified by David Reagan as one of the prophetic voices to America in his book of the same name, and he’s been on Christ in Prophecy I’ve counted eight to nine times so far in many of our conferences, and he’s here to share his unique and timely insights.

Tim Moore: On October 7th, 2023, terrorists from Gaza swarmed into Southern Israel to murder, rape, maim, and kidnap innocent Jewish men, women, and children. Even now in early 2025, the despicable terrorist group Hamas continues to hold Jewish hostages.

Jonathan’s latest book, The Dragon’s Prophecy, explains the spiritual dynamic of this age-old animosity toward the chosen people of God that has exploded in violence once again.

Part 2: Jonathan Cahn Interview

Tim Moore: Jonathan, our topic is heartbreaking, but your explanations are vital, and we’re glad you could join us again today on Christ in Prophecy.

Jonathan Cahn: Great to be with you, as always.

Nathan Jones: Well, Rabbi Cahn, let’s get right to it here. It’s called The Dragon’s Prophecy. Who’s the dragon?

Jonathan Cahn: Okay, yeah, well, The Dragon’s Prophecy, first of all, I didn’t plan on writing this book. This book, God interrupted me. I was writing another book and I got interrupted. And I’ll tell you what happened, interrupted me on this, but this is, I’ve never written a book that so much opens up End Time prophecy and what is happening now, but how it links up exactly with ancient prophecies and even links up with revelation that is yet to come.
But there’s things aligning right now as I have never seen so much in my life. And so this is a whole other realm. It’s almost like, you know, if you’re taking away a veil and you’re seeing what’s behind world events, what’s behind what’s happening here and in Israel and around the world, and it’s amazing.

There are mysteries and entities. And the thing is that the dragon is one of them. And the thing is that, you know, this comes from Revelation 12, and that is that I actually—and when I was praying to the Lord about, you know, what book to write, should I be, you know, because I was writing something else and He was leading me. And I see in my mind’s eye, I see a dragon, a red dragon. And I knew this is Revelation and so this is the enemy.

This is, you know, we are in a war. And it’s not just an ancient war. It’s a war right now. October 7th was part of an ancient war. We are all in this war, every single one of us, and I’ll show how, but that’s how, that’s the beginning of it. And really, the center of the book, the thing that ties it all together is that vision of the dragon and the woman in Revelation 12.

Tim Moore: You know, as we talked about last week, Jonathan, a lot of people would dismiss this spiritual realm because they can’t see it, they can’t measure it, and they go about their lives fed up with any talk of God, but really embracing secularism and materialism. And yet we know that the Word of God tells us that there’s a spiritual realm that is not flesh and blood, but it impacts the world in which we live.

So why would, or why does Satan and his demonic horde hold out such special animosity, not just for the people of God, the Christians today, but for the Jewish people down through the many ages?

Jonathan Cahn: Yeah, well, you know what you just said about the fact that people don’t live with the idea of the spiritual realm, and yet it’s the spiritual realm that really determines everything else. And, you know, it’s actually true. It actually does.

And so real and so much so that you know, the very thing that started The Dragon’s Prophesy is that actually, I lead a congregation in New Jersey, and I was speaking on a Friday night. And I was speaking on a mystery from the Bible. And that mystery ordained, when you take it to its conclusion, the mystery ordained there would be an attack on Israel.

It would take Israel by surprise. It would happen in the year 2023. The mystery ordained it would happen in the month of October. The mystery ordained it would happen on a Saturday. It would fall on a Hebrew holy day. It would lead to war. The mystery ordained that it, altogether, would happen on the first Saturday of October of 2023. The first Saturday of October of 2023, fell on October 7th, 2023, the very day it all happened. And the thing is, I shared this mystery on Friday night, at our Friday night service. The next morning, it came true, and this is what led the book.

So, yes, there’s no way we can explain these things naturally. This is the Word of God and this is the spiritual realm. And these actually, this is actual reality, our news events, behind it is this. And the thing is that it brings it to an ancient war. What we saw on October 7th was just the latest part of an ancient war.

In the Book of Revelation, it says there’s a red dragon and then there’s a woman. And the woman has 12 stars around her head. She has the Sun and the Moon, you know, over her. And this is a picture of Israel. She gives birth to the Messiah. Only Israel, you know, that’s not the Church. The Church is born of Messiah. Israel gave birth to the Messiah. And also can’t just be Mary because she’s alive at the end of the age. And so this can only be Israel with the 12 stars, the 12 Tribes of Israel.

So the dragon, it says, wars against the woman. He tried to destroy the baby. He tried to destroy the child, who’s Messiah. Then it says the child was taken up, the Messiah was taken up. And then he wars against the woman. And it says he rages against the woman.

Why? Well, because in the beginning, you know, you have this entity that turned against God and that twisted, again, so he exists. This is the dragon. This is the devil. In Hebrew, he’s called Ha-Satan. We get the word Satan, diabolos in Greek, we get the word devil. He exists to destroy the purposes of God. And so you got that going on.

On the other side, God brings into the world a nation that exists to fulfill the purpose of God, to bring them into the world. The Jewish people, Israel, brought the Bible into the world, brought the Word of God, the revelation of God, the knowledge of God, God Messiah, into the world. They will bring the Kingdom of God.

So what’s going to happen? You’re going to have a war. And even if we didn’t know anything else, all we knew was the Bible, we didn’t know any history, you’re going to have a war. And the Jewish people, we would expect, would become the most warred against people on Planet Earth. They become the most persecuted, hated, vilified people in ancient, not just ancient times, modern times, medieval times, it doesn’t matter, by people who have nothing in common except that they hate the Jewish people.

I mean, think about it. You know, it never dies. You know, it doesn’t… and the reasons always change, you know? And you know, a few generations, you had Hitler. Now you have Hamas. There’s no relationship there again. But there is a common denominator, you’ve got a devil. You’ve got a fallen angel that doesn’t die.

So in every generation, it happens. So the first antisemite in the world was an angel, was the devil, and that, and so, you know, it says the Jewish people bear witness that God exists. They wouldn’t exist if God didn’t exist. But their history also bears witness that the devil exists as well.

Nathan Jones: You know, I was reading your book. I was up 30,000 feet in the air, and if there was any room in the plane, I would have fallen out of my chair when we got to this particular point. And we know that Israel’s a miracle. It’s the fig tree rebudded. Isaiah 11 says the Lord would regather the Jews a second time. The nation of Israel is reborn.

But then Satan had to have a false miracle. And that was the resurrection of, and you said the Philistines. And I was like. Can you explain what you mean that the Philistines have been resurrected from the dead?

Jonathan Cahn: Yeah, yeah. The subtitle of the book is, Israel, the Dark Resurrection, and the End of Days. So what’s the Dark Resurrection? Well, think about it. The enemy is an imitator. He always imitates God. He tries to put himself in the place of God, the Antichrist in the place of Christ. You know, that’s how he always does. And so what would we expect?

Well, God, what did God do? God brought into the world, He resurrected an ancient people, an ancient nation, Israel, back into the modern world. So what’s the devil going to do? He is going to resurrect another ancient people, and he’s going to bring them back into the world, and they’re going to exist to oppose God’s resurrection, to oppose the nation of Israel. It’s a war against them, so he’s the enemy.

Who would he resurrect? An enemy of Israel. So who are the archenemies of Israel in the Bible? The Philistines. You know, that’s Goliath. They killed Saul. You know, that’s Samson. You know, they killed, you know, all that. Well, the thing is that could the enemy actually resurrect the Philistines? Well, the thing is that it’s not about the people. We got to pray for the people. They don’t know they’re being used and all that. But it doesn’t change the fact he already did.

You see, there is a people today who are called the Palestinians, but people don’t realize, you know what the word Palestinian means? It literally means the Philistines. It literally means the Philistines. So when you talk about the two-state solution, the Israel-Palestine solution, it’s Israel-Philistine solution. When you talk about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, it’s the Israeli-Philistine conflict.

And so the amazing thing is that when, as God was resurrecting Israel, at the same moment, right after that, at every step of the way, it’s like the enemy was resurrecting the Philistines. That’s when, you know, the Palestinians didn’t exist. It was only in the modern times after… Do you know where the Philistines, the ancient Philistine, where they dwelt?

In their Bibles, it may be called Philistia. But today, that little region is called the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip is ancient Philistia, of the land of the Philistines. And the thing is, the Gaza Strip did not exist until, you know when it came into existence? In 1948, the year Israel came into existence. So the children of Israel go back to the land of Israel. At the same moment, the children of the people called the Philistines go back to the land of the Philistines. It’s all the enemy setting up a conflict.

You got God, you got the… Listen, listen, isn’t this what we would expect? It’s just like, I understand what you said. It’s like when the lights came on with me, it’s like, “Whoa, whoa!” But it’s exactly what we would expect. And that’s why this issue has become the major issue for nations to hate Israel now. They use the Palestinian… It’s the Philistines. They don’t realize it, but it’s the ancient war resurrected.

Tim Moore: But the difference is, these people today who call themselves Palestinians do not have the genetic or even the cultural or religious connection to those ancient Philistines. As a matter of fact, this is a group, I would almost call, of migrants who have moved around and eventually settled in the land. Many of them came even after the promised land began to rebud at the beginning of the 19th century.

Mark Twain traveled to that region and said there was nobody there except for small enclaves of Bedouins and a few villages. It was empty and desolate. And so this claim that the Palestinians have lived there for centuries and that they predated the Jews is a false claim. It’s just the identity that they have reclaimed.

And as you said, that is satanically inspired because we know the ancient Philistines worshiped the false god of Dagon. That’s recorded in 1 Samuel 5. The modern Palestinians also worship a false god, but not connected to that ancient people group.

Jonathan Cahn: Yeah, interesting point, and it’s significant and it’s a double point because one is, you know, God does a resurrection, it’s a real resurrection. It’s the exact people. It’s the DNA. It’s everything, you know. You know, the enemy is going to have a fake resurrection. It’s going to be a false resurrection. So it’s a people who are being conformed into the image.

And they literally, by the way, you know when Palestinians, you know, they don’t call themselves Palestinians in their language. You know what the word for Palestinian is? It’s, the word is Filastini or Philistine. Literally, in Arabic, it’s Philistine or Filastini. So literally, that’s what they’re calling them. So it’s a people being conformed into the image.

Now, but the interesting thing is, even the ancient Philistines weren’t necessarily the ancient Philistines. What I’ll tell you is this. When the Philistines came, they actually came from the Greek lands. And when they came in the archeology has shown that within a few generations, they were Canaanite. So even the Philistines have this nature where they’re genetically changing. So these are the heirs of the Philistines. But yes, you’re right, they have not been there for thousands of years. You know, it’s all been… but the enemy uses it.

And when you said about the ancient people, but here’s the nature of the Philistines. You know what they did? They used to train their children. The Bible actually gives the evidence. Train their children as child soldiers. Well, that’s what the Palestinians do today. So it’s like they’re being conformed. It says the ancient Philistines had an ongoing, undying hatred of Israel, and that’s what’s taken over this Palestinian culture. But they’re being conformed by the enemy.

Tim Moore: You know, a lot of people would not realize. I’m sorry. I’ll jump in once more. That even the word Hamas, who has been the perpetrator of this most recent atrocity against Israel, the word Hamas, which means uncontrollable or unrestrained rage, and that’s really what they exhibit. But that word appears in the Hebrew Scriptures in the Old Testament. And what was the reference made there in the Bible about the word Hamas?

Jonathan Cahn: Yeah, Hamas is a strange word because it has a double property. In Arabic, it means zeal, fervor, and it’s an acronym for the Islamic Resistance Movement. But it’s an ancient Hebrew word, so it’s an Arabic word, and it’s an ancient Hebrew word that gives the real meaning, which is Hamas is death, violence, evil, and destruction. And so that’s exactly what it is.

But the amazing thing is people don’t realize this. That’s why I put it in The Dragon’s Prophecy that if you read the Bible in the original, Hamas is in the Bible. And for instance, it says, “Lord, save me from the men of Hamas.” It says, “Hamas has risen up in the land as a rod of evil,” and there’s crimes of bloodshed all over the land.

Tim Moore: Well, it also says in Genesis 6, “Now the Earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the Earth was filled with Hamas,” which we translate as violence or evil.

Jonathan Cahn: Yeah, you know, it says, you know, right now we know that Hamas has been hiding out in those tunnels under the Earth. Well, the Bible says, “Hamas dwells in the dark places of the Earth.” It says God says in the Bible to Israel, He says, “And the prophets rid Hamas from the land.” And it says when Messiah comes again and He reigns over Israel, it says in that day, the promise is in that day, “No more shall Hamas be heard in your land again.”

Nathan Jones: Wow. Well, how does the mystery of the Jubilees play into this?

Jonathan Cahn: Big time. You know, I wrote a book. One of the books I wrote was called The Oracle, which first opens up the mystery of the Jubilee, but now it goes into a whole other level, a whole other realm. Well, remember that the enemy tries to take the things of God and twist them against God, okay? So first, what did God do?

Well, you know, the Jubilee is that every 50th year, if you lost your land, you got it back. You go home, you return. Whoever’s on your land’s got to get off your land. And that’s the Jubilee. You get restored; you get free. It’s a return. Well, the thing is that when the Jewish people, there’s no people who have so lost their land as much, dramatically, as the Jewish people for 2,000 years. But when they come back to the land as the Jubilee because they are the people of the Jubilee. And you know, it’s the cosmic prophetic Jubilee. Well, the amazing thing is that God has restored Israel according to the mystery of the Jubilee.

Now, let me give you one thing to begin with. In Leviticus where it gives the ordinance of the Jubilee, It says, “Everybody, you shall return to your land. You shall return.” Well, in Hebrew, the word that God says, it’s all one word, “you shall return” is one word. It’s teshuvah. Well, the thing about it is, teshuvah, and listen, we got to be careful. There are people who take things way too far, but this is so gigantic, and that in Hebrew, in order to say numbers, you use letters. That’s in the Bible. It would be like A is one, B is two. And that’s how it goes in the Hebrew. And the thing is that when you take the letters of “you shall return,” teshuvah, you shall return, it adds up to the year 1948. So here is God telling Israel, “You’re returning,” and it has the year in it, okay?

But the amazing thing is that every restoration of Israel is based on the Jubilee. I’ll give a quick nutshell. One of these Jubilee years, prophetically, is 1867. In that year, the land that is controlled by the Turks, the sultan of the Turkish empire releases the land. He passes a law that now Jewish people can start purchasing the land back for their people. And that’s when Jewish people start really coming back to the land.

Okay, 1867. What happens if you count 50 years to the next Jubilee? It takes you to the year 1917. Anything happen? 1917, you know, the Jubilee, the people on your land have to get off. It’s World War I. The British come into the Middle East under General Allenby, a Christian, and the Turkish empire flees the lands after centuries in the year of Jubilee. And the British Empire issues the Balfour Declaration say, declaring the land of Israel shall go back to the people of Israel, Jubilee. But one thing is they don’t have Jerusalem. They have to have Jerusalem for Jesus to come.

And so count 50 years from that Jubilee. What does it take you to? It takes you to the year 1967, next Jubilee. Anything happen? Six-Day War, 1967. On the third day of the war, the soldiers of Israel entered into the gates of Jerusalem for the first time in 2,000 years, basically, so Jesus can come back. It’s Jubilee, Jubilee. And by the way, when that happens, in the year Jubilee, they get restored. It says, “Everyone shall return to their possession.” But at the moment that they came on the Temple Mount, the sound of the Jubilee went forth from the Temple Mount.

There was a rabbi named Rabbi Goren, and he just happened to have a shofar, and he sounds the Jubilee. He wasn’t thinking about all this. He just sounded the Jubilee. Well, Rabbi Goren was born in 1917, the other Jubilee. So now it’s his Jubilee. He’s 50 years sounding the sound of Jubilee at the moment of Jubilee, okay? And by the way, the name Goren is translated means horn. Rabbi Horn sounded the horn in the time of Jubilee. Okay, so they got that.

But now, the one thing you get when you come to the Jubilee, you don’t just go back to your land. You get the legal right of it. It’s your land. It’s recognized by everybody, but the world refused to recognize Jerusalem. It’s the one capital the whole world said, “We’re not going to recognize.” It never got that.

But if you count 50 years from 1967, where does it take you? It takes you to the year 2017. Anything happen? 2017, the United States of America under President Trump issues the Jerusalem Declaration, giving the legal right and recognition to Jerusalem for the first time in thousands of years. And think about that. Think about that, that in the other Jubilee, ’67, the key guy was named Rabbi Horn. In this Jubilee, the key man was named President Trump. So only God could do that.

Tim Moore: Only God could do it.

Jonathan Cahn: Now let me just kind of bring this to a, this part, this mystery to this. Here’s the other side. The enemy is going to imitate the Jubilee. He’s going to make it a devil’s Jubilee. And so there was an event that wasn’t a good event. It was a calamity for Israel. It was called the Yom Kippur War. The Yom Kippur war, Israel was caught by surprise. Israel believed it was the end of Israel. The government thought it was the destruction of Israel.

Miraculously, God turned it around. But they were shaken by that war to this day. It was the worst thing that happened to Israel up until October 7th. But what happens if the enemy’s going to make a Jubilee of it? What happens if you count 50 years from the Yom Kippur war?

1973 plus 50 takes you to 2023. There’s going to be another invasion. That’s going to be the devil’s Jubilee. The Yom Kippur War happened in the month of October so this one’s going to happen in the month of October. The Yom Kippur War happened on a Saturday so this is going to happen on a Saturday. The Yom Kippur War happened on the first Saturday of October of 1973, so this is going to happen on the first Saturday of 2023, which is October 7th.

It is 50 years to the exact Sabbath so this is what everybody saw. You talked about this at the beginning. Tim, you said you know how there’s spiritual things that people don’t, you know, they don’t look in the spiritual realm. Well, everything you saw, this was a spiritual thing happening, and this was the devil’s Jubilee warring against God’s Jubilee.

Tim Moore: You know, it’s amazing to me. You said, “There’s no irony in God. There are no coincidences.” I think He does have a sense of humor, but He weaves in so much beauty if we just have eyes to see, let alone ears to hear. Obviously, we read the end of the book. We know that there is salvation for a great remnant of Israel, but we also know there are calamitous days ahead.

And so we know that there are more, there’s more devastation coming for the Jewish people. But we can pray not just for the peace of Jerusalem but for the salvation of Jews so that when Jesus does come for His church, that includes as many Jews and Gentiles as possible.

Jonathan Cahn: Yes, absolutely, and I will say this because I don’t know, we probably don’t have enough time, but there are so many mysteries, you know, since this happened, October 7th, the whole Middle East has been changing. And there have been so many mysteries that have been rapidly, it’s like prophecy accelerated. There are things that link up with Ezekiel 38 and 39. Do you know that it says that these nations that He names are going to all partake in invasion of Israel?

Well, do you know they never have until October 7th, that the nations that he names that we can identify actually all had a part in October 7th for the first time? For the first time. It says that Iran is going to attack, Ezekiel, Iran is going to attack Israel. Well, they never did directly until this past year. You know, we are accelerating. There are so many mysteries to this and mysteries, but by the way, when you read Revelation, when we talk about the end, you know, it says the dragon spews a flood against the woman, a flood against Israel.

Well, do you know what Hamas called that invasion of October 7th? The code word is Operation Toofan, which in Arabic means Operation the Flood, as in the dragon’s flood. There is so much happening, we won’t have time to go into it but even with Iran, with what’s going to happen, where we are, there are things happening linked to Revelation. There’s a thing about the colors of the Apocalypse and Revelation that are actually manifesting now.

But I will say this, the ultimate thing, because I want to give it, you know, we always end it with encouragement, is that the last part of the book is about us and this war because we’re all in this war because the enemy is not just against Israel. He’s against the rest of her children who are Christians. If you’re a believer, you’re a child of Israel, the enemy’s against you. And the thing is, and by the way, if you’re watching this program and you’re not either, but you are in the image of God, the enemy’s been warring against you since you were born.

But the Bible says, “In Jesus, we are victorious by the Lamb.” The Lamb overcomes the dragon and it says, in that same chapter of the vision, it says, “But they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb.” We have victory. You know, and the very fact that Israel exists to this day after 4,000 years when the devil’s been trying to destroy them is a sign that God, whoever’s with God, you are on the winning side and you have to fight like the winning side. And like Israel fights, we have to fight in the spiritual, but we are called for victory.

Closing

Tim Moore: Thank you, Jonathan. Folks, The Dragon’s Prophecy has become one of my favorite of Jonathan’s many books. And I say that as someone who has appreciated and recommended his writing for years.

Nathan Jones: Even now, Hamas and the perpetrators of evil against Israel are seeking to steal and kill and destroy. They will not submit to any authority on Earth because they do the will of their father, Satan.

Tim Moore: Such a gloomy prognosis could leave us discouraged or hopeless, but our hope does not lie in the circumstances of this life. We know that in this world, we will have trouble. The Jewish people will be despised, rejected, and abused by all those who are instruments of Satanic evil or passive stooges in the face of wickedness.

But those of us who know Christ have His heart. We love the Jewish people because God loves the Jewish people. We long for their salvation because Jesus Christ gave Himself for the salvation of Jew and Gentile alike.

Tim Moore: Let me say this about Jonathan Cahn. His insights come from his knowledge of Hebrew, his study of the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit. You may not have in-depth knowledge of Hebrew, but if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, you have the Word of God and the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. Study the Word of God for yourself, even as you read the insights of prophetic voices like Jonathan Cahn.

The prophecies recorded in the Word of God by the prophets of old are accessible to any who are willing to read, study, and seek understanding. Jesus Himself promised as much when He said, “The Spirit of Truth will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.”

Join us next week as we welcome the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of our hearts to what God has revealed to those who love Him and eagerly anticipate the return of His Son, Jesus Christ.

As the great remnant of the Jews will cry out someday, we already proclaim: Baruch haba b-Shem Adonai, Blessed is He Who Comes in the Name of the LORD! Godspeed!
