Introduction
Tim Moore: Welcome to Christ in Prophecy. We are very glad you’ve joined us today. What a year this has been. From a chaotic political season to a fractious presidential election, to continued war and unrest in Eastern Europe and Israel, to threats multiplying around the world, most of us would be glad to see 2024 in our rear view mirror.
Nathan Jones: We knew when this year began that the presidential election would consume much of the media’s attention in this country, but nobody imagined that just 15 weeks prior to the election, Joe Biden would be pressured to drop out of the race by his own party and that he would be replaced by Kamala Harris. And we had no idea that the war in Gaza would expand to a northern front as Israel began dismantling Hezbollah, or that Iran would attack Israel with waves of ballistic missiles. Not once, but twice.
Tim Moore: You know, so much has happened from a prophetic perspective that it is appropriate for us to pause and reflect on 2024 biblically. Americans have become conditioned to the 24/7 news cycle that is always hyping the urgent instead of considering the important. And there is a compulsion to always look for the next bright, shiny new thing. For a few moments today, however, we intend to seek wisdom as we reflect on 2024. So how about it, Nathan, how would you sum up this past year?
Nathan Jones: Oh, Tim, I think the word would be harrowing. It was a harrowing year, from a harrowing year knowing we were going into an election season, to watching what was going on with Israel and dealing with Hamas to seeing the countries of the world explode with anti-Semitic hatred to Israel. Then of course the crazy election cycle and everybody praying hard, and then kind of the little bit of peace that came after the election results came in. I feel like it’s been just a rollercoaster ride this year.
Tim Moore: It has been a rollercoaster ride, and I think it’s appropriate that we look back first with Thanksgiving, that the Lord has seen us to this point, that he has allowed us to dodge certain bullets, shall we say. We were worried, if you will, about some of the policies that a Harris administration might implement. And now we are relieved that at least some sanity will reign. We’ve celebrated some of the appointments that President-elect Trump has made. For instance, our friend Mike Huckabee is going to be the ambassador to Israel.
Nathan Jones: Great choice.
Tim Moore: But as we pause for a moment to reflect, I want to observe something that Paul said to the church at Philippi. In Philippians 3:13-14 he said, “Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own, but I do one thing or one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call in Christ Jesus.” And so some people would say, well, why do you even look behind? Paul would tell us, just look ahead. Look ahead. But I think there’s great wisdom in considering where we’ve been, where we’ve come, and how we got to where we are. And that’s not really what Paul’s talking about here, is it?
Nathan Jones: No, it’s very biblical. I mean, think for instance, when the Jewish people as they finished the wanderings and they marched through the Jordan River, they put up memorial stones so they could remember what the Lord had done during that time. Throughout Israel, there are celebrations, there’s feasts and all, as memorials to what the Lord had done. So it’s very biblical to take a moment to stop and be thankful. I know we’re in a Christmas slash Thanksgiving season now, New Year’s, and it’s just a time to sit back and say, wow, this is all the Lord has done.
Tim Moore: Well, our friends at gotquestions.com, which is a tremendous website to give you a evangelical Christian perspective on some of the questions you might have. Put it this way, what Paul is saying is forget what lies behind in your own past in terms of dragging you down. Don’t look back, stop dwelling on the past, and don’t let anything interfere with your present progress or your focus on Jesus Christ. So we don’t plan to let anything interfere with our focus on Christ, but we want to learn from the past. And just as God has told us over and over again to remember and to celebrate his faithfulness, I think it’s important that we do so even as we reflect on 2024.
Nathan Jones: Right, there’s a lot to look back—and the harrowingness of it all, and I like that, I think harrowing is going to be my word for 2024, but it’s amazing to come to the end of it and see all that the Lord has done.
Tim Moore: Well, I like that word, harrowing. Although we are celebrating because this harrowing year did not scar us and our focus remains on Jesus Christ and His soon return. So let’s turn our attention to some of the signs that multiplied and increased in frequency and intensity this year. Of course, six categories of signs we’ve talked about many times are the signs of nature, the signs of society, spiritual signs, signs of world politics, technology, and Israel. So let’s just begin. What are some of the signs of nature that we have witnessed just this past year?
Nathan Jones: Well, it’s been a horrible year for hurricanes. I mean, obviously we’ve seen Hurricane Helene and others come up the coast just destroying things. Our own assistant evangelist, Vic Batista, he works in a hospital and he has pretty much locked down in a hospital for days just in case, so that they’d be ready for people. We saw Asheville, North Carolina, a city up in the mountains get flooded out horrifically. And it’s like, you know, what towns in the mountains get hit by hurricanes? We’ve seen tornadoes. This year, I got to go spend time with our sister ministry with Al Gist, and he showed me all the damage that was done from the hurricanes that came through and destroyed all the trees a few years ago, so that was a little taste of what the hurricanes were looking back. But the Lord said that natural disasters would increase in frequency and intensity leading up to His return. And we’ve been seeing it, the Oxfam reports that natural disasters have increased four times in the last 20 years.
Tim Moore: Wow!
Nathan Jones: Back in 1980, 60 or so natural disasters a year, big ones. Now it’s up to 240 a year.
Tim Moore: You know, 15 years ago when I served in the legislature, we got a magazine and it touted as its cover story how natural disasters were increasing in intensity and in destruction, and how governments around the nation were calling for resilience in the face of ever more destructive and frequent natural disasters. I knew then they had no clue they were declaring the fulfillment of Bible prophecy even then. And they’ve only increased whether it’s Helene, Milton, just in recent weeks, Nathan, and you and I have talked about how there is snow in Saudi Arabia. It’s something that they don’t even remember recording snow happening in Saudi Arabia. There’s a lot of upheaval in the natural world.
Nathan Jones: And the Lord gives natural disasters because for one, we’re in a fallen state, so the weather is all screwed up anyway, but there’s also times where he uses natural disasters as judgments to get people to repent and return to Him. But third, again, as we found in Luke 21 and Matthew 24, the Lord says that natural disasters are in part meant to point to the return to Jesus. And we’ve always had natural disasters, but He said they’d increase in frequency and intensity like birth pains leading up to the birth with the birth being Jesus Christ’s return.
Tim Moore: Amen. Well, the second category of signs we often talk about, and I think no one can ignore, is the breakdown of division in our own society. We saw so much political division leading up to the election. Even at the election, there was a great divide between the red and the blue. Obviously most of the country is red in terms of looking at a map, but there are pockets of blue, which has a lot of population. So there’s a pretty even split. And yet we’re also talking about the moral degradation, not just of our society, but taking place around the world.
Nathan Jones: Yes, it’s a pendulum that swings back and forth from conservatism to liberalism. Sad thing is, is that once a society is in, you know, used to seeing something like the transgender movement or the abuse of children in the way of gender transitioning and stuff like that, even though we’re repulsed by it, it becomes part of the conversation society. So society becomes more accepting to it. I saw a statistic recently, Tim, that even in the Church, over 70% of the Church now supports same sex marriage. So that pendulum is swinging farther and farther left each time as people get used to that sin being accepted.
Tim Moore: You know, and speaking of the election, although the outcome will lead to a period of relative calm, we also saw once again that every place there was a referendum on life versus abortion, a majority of American voters supported abortion, even in Florida where the amendment failed because they didn’t get to a 60% threshold. Nevertheless, a majority of Floridians supported abortion. So we are in a terrible state morally and spiritually in this nation. Our society is showing the brunt of that. But that leads to our next category, which is signs that are spiritual in nature.
Nathan Jones: Right, and the signs of spiritual nature have both positive and negative signs. And fortunately for the positive sign, hey, you know, people think that the Church is, here in the West, at least we’re in the Laodicean age and it describes the Church an apathetic church, who thinks it’s rich, but it’s really spiritually poor. But there are pockets where the Gospel is spreading all over the world. And you know, here at Lamb & Lion Ministries, we just rejoice the fact that the Lord has given us the opportunities to reach people for Jesus.
Tim Moore: Amen.
Nathan Jones: You know, Tim, as an internet evangelist, I have people write from all over the world. Sometimes Muslims will write and they’ll say, if anyone knew that I was talking to you, they’d kill me. And yet we can get the Gospel into places where we couldn’t physically get into, over the radio waves now, we’ve got, of course, the television waves, through the internet, all these different ways, the Gospel is still spreading. And we can praise the Lord for that.
Tim Moore: We can praise the Lord for that. So we don’t minimize the reality of some of the negative aspects of the spiritual category. You know, right here in the Dallas area, we had several very prominent failures of Christian leaders and well-known pastors. That has happened nationwide and around the world. We’ve seen a rise in apostasy and heresy within the Church, many mainline American denominations just giving themselves over to an ideology that is unbiblical. And even in the Catholic church. Now, we’re not touting the Catholic church’s doctrine, per se, but there was a time when the Pope at least would adhere to Catholic teachings. And of course we’ve documented that this Pope, I’m not even sure he is Catholic.
Nathan Jones: The Pope ain’t Catholic.
Tim Moore: This pope ain’t Catholic.
Nathan Jones: No.
Tim Moore: And so all those are negative signs, but there’s an indication of how God can use even some negative spiritual efforts to His greater glory. And I’ll give you an example.
Nathan Jones: Okay.
Tim Moore: Just this past year, I think we have witnessed with our own eyes a rise in the demonic rage of antisemitism directed at Israel in general, and Jews in particular happening even in this country. And that’s a terrible, tragic spiritual emptiness and a demonic deception. But the Lord is allowing that to occur, causing the Jews to realize that they really don’t have friends in high places of a natural order. They only have one friend in the highest place, and that is God Himself. And so many Jewish hearts are being softened to be resonant, at least with the Gospel that we share.
Nathan Jones: Oh yeah. And even during the election, we had news reports of witches praying curses upon the Republicans, especially Donald Trump. And then saying that they couldn’t do anything against him because he was supernaturally protected. Certainly when he turned his head in and the bullet missed, supernaturally protected, which to me says that the spiritual battle is right out there. You don’t have to like—it’s not hidden anymore. The battles between man, there’s a spiritual battle behind it. And we got that veil peeled back a lot this year and got to see the spiritual battle.
Tim Moore: Well, that spiritual battle feeds into our next category-
Nathan Jones: Yes.
Tim Moore: Which is world politics. So not only the election of Donald Trump, we’ve seen other maneuvering in the world of politics, of the international realm of nation against nation. Some of those things are very concerning with the rise of Russia’s aggressiveness, not only in Ukraine, but now reaching into other areas. It’s consolidation of alliance with North Korea and China. Some of these bode very dangerous for the future. And yet that’s exactly what Scripture described in terms of some of these unholy alliances that will eventually turn their attention on Israel.
Nathan Jones: Yeah, Russia’s ongoing war in the Ukraine is tragic, but at the same time, it shows that Russia still is a power in the end. And what do we read in prophecy at the Gog-Magog War, Ezekiel 38- 39 says that Russia has to be a power, not just a power, but a leader amongst the Islamic nations. And what have we been watching in the Middle East as Putin continues to have meetings with Erdogan in Turkey and Iran and the ayatollahs there and making connections of what we see is the future of the Gog-Magog Alliance. Even Hamas was getting all their weapons to attack Israel from Sudan and Ethiopia, two more nations from the Gog-Magog Alliance. So you know, if we see that the Gog-Magog War is happening, and I truly believe that because God’s supernaturally shows Himself in this event after the Rapture, it means the Rapture’s coming even sooner.
Tim Moore: It does mean the Rapture’s coming even sooner. You know, folks, just a few years ago, about 12 to 15 years ago, there were people who were saying Russia is done as a threat. The Russian bear…
Nathan Jones: Barack Obama.
Tim Moore: Yeah, Barack Obama, the bear’s been defamed. People thought that our relationship with China would warm that country and they would turn away from Communism. Well, they’ve embraced a form of Capitalism, but they’ve actually doubled down on Totalitarianism. And so all of these hopeful signs are now recognized as being shortsighted because if someone had just read Scripture, they would’ve known Russia would again rise as a threat. China will continue to be a threat from the East. And all those nations we’ve talked about will coalesce in opposition to Israel. So now that brings us to signs of technology, and boy, are they exploding every day?
Nathan Jones: Well, every few years there’s some new technology that you couldn’t believe is happening. And I’d say that 2024 is the year of artificial intelligence, AI. That has been the talk of Wall Street all the way up through the corporations. Every company is vying to get it out there. And you know, basically, it’s a better search engine when you think about it. But you know, you read prophecies like with the antichrist, this false prophet will set up an image, a living image in the Temple, and the world was worshiping and it interacts with people. That’s AI technology. Now whether it uses a robot or a hologram or whatnot, but we’ve got technologies for controlling the world population as the world tries to get rid of cash and move to central bank digital currencies. Tim, I think we saw kind of—it didn’t roll out as well as 2024 would plan for CBDC’s, but it will in the next few years. And when the government can control the buying and selling, well, that’s right out of Revelation 13.
Tim Moore: It certainly is right out of Revelation 13. And so we can see the technology coming into place for the antichrist to be able to exert control over the entire world. And that doesn’t mean we fear the technology. As a matter of fact, we’re using technology today to proclaim the Gospel. So we always try to leverage technology for the glory of God, but we know that Satan will also use it for nefarious means, especially under the reign of the antichrist. Well, that brings us to our last category of signs, Nathan. We’ve got to move quickly. And that’s the greatest sign of all, Israel. And boy, what a year it’s been in the Middle East.
Nathan Jones: Well, 2023 obviously of October 7th, the attack of Hamas. It was horrific, you know, thirteen hundred terrorists pouring into a country killing near three thousand and hauling off over three hundred. Approximately a hundred of them at this time of recording are still hostages.
Tim Moore: Right.
Nathan Jones: Israel finally went in and destroyed Hamas and they continue to control that area. Then Hezbollah and Lebanon wanted to get in, and we saw the Jewish people being amazing. I mean, you know, pagers blowing up and all the leaders of Hamas getting, excuse me, Hezbollah getting wiped out real quickly. Iran having not one, but two as we said, two attacks upon Israel with drones. One the biggest drones strikes in Israel. Ballistic missiles blowing up. We have Jewish people saying that this is a miracle, people who are secular Jews saying God is in this. And we’ve started seeing tied to the spiritual reality of it, they’re starting to say that a minute, there is a God. So amazing things are happening in Israel.
Tim Moore: They certainly are. And we see the silver lining in some of these seemingly dark clouds because the Jewish people are coming to realize that they shouldn’t put their hope anywhere else. All the nations of the world have turned against them. The United Nations considered kicking Israel out. The only nation that would be expelled from the United Nations would be Israel. And of course our own previous administration, the Biden administration, was a very fickle friend and often tried to restrain Israel in the face of these existential threats, even terrorist attacks. And so yes, the Jewish people have come to realize they couldn’t put their hope in the United States or in Western allies. Their only hope is in God Almighty. And there’s an openness given the miracles that they are witnessing to recognizing God still has a plan for us. And some of them are receptive to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
And as I mentioned already, we are so grateful that our friend Mike Huckabee has been named the American Ambassador. So we ongoingly pray for Governor Huckabee, soon to be Ambassador Huckabee, and that the Jews living in Israel will come to realize that Ambassador Huckabee being an Evangelical Christian is demonstrative of all of us who are Evangelical Christians and love the Jewish people. I hope that opens an avenue for much sharing the Gospel throughout Israel.
Nathan Jones: Yeah, I think Netanyahu has, again, definitely been getting a strong dose of the Gospel. Of course, you know, he went to college here pretty close to where I went to when I was in Pennsylvania. So he knows the Gospel, he knows the Bible. He’s not obviously a Christian. I hope after the Rapture, he becomes a Messianic believer. Wouldn’t that be wonderful? But it’s clearly that he’s a God believer and he is turning to Him. And the Lord has blessed Netanyahu just like He’s blessed Trump. They seem to be power leaders, men of their times, that God has positioned in the right place. The weak leaders get washed away, which shows something that going into 2025, you know, I think this epic battle that we’re seeing in the spiritual realm will continue to ratchet up. But the Lord is strategically putting the right men in the right places to handle it.
Tim Moore: One of the things that we’ve mentioned several times as we were reviewing the six categories of signs is how one category kind of blends over into another category and how technology has significance even in the spiritual realm and back and forth. And what we’re really addressing is what we call convergence, the idea that all the signs are converging and intertwining like never before. So explain that concept to us a little bit.
Nathan Jones: It wasn’t too long ago, we had Dr. Ron Rhodes on our show, fantastic teacher. And he introduced something that both Dr. Reagan and I were like kind of like ah, and when he was telling us this is convergence, this idea that as all the signs are happening all at the same time, it’s a convergence of signs where they come all together. Now that’s a sign in of itself because you know, back a hundred years ago, there was a little sign here and a little sign there for each from the category. But you know, as the Lord said, they’d increase in frequency and intensity and multiply. Well, soon we’re getting more and more. Now all six are just raging all at once.
Tim Moore: Yes.
Nathan Jones: That is a convergence. That’s pointing to the fact that we’re getting close to where the birth pains are closer and closer and the contractions are closer and closer, which means the baby’s about to be born. That just means the return of Christ.
Tim Moore: Exactly. So, well, you know, folks, we’ve talked about the signs of the times looking back, but I don’t want to miss the opportunity to look back from a perspective of Lamb & Lion Ministries and give God praise for all that He’s done with us, through us, for us throughout this year. So Nathan, what a year it’s been even for our ministry. What are some of the highlights that stand out to you?
Nathan Jones: To me, one of the highlights is that we got back into radio. Dr. Reagan, folks, you might not know this, but for 20 years, Christ in Prophecy was a radio program and before we moved into TV in 2002, we had to leave radio behind so we could focus on TV. But now the Lord has been able to provide through our association with RK Media, a great group of Christians who are helping us get on the radio. And they said that, well, you know, after maybe a year you might get a hundred stations or so. Folks, the Lord put us on 850 stations in a thousand with the one minute. And that’s unheard of within just three months. So we’re praising the Lord. Clearly, there’s a whole new audience that needs to hear the Gospel over the radio, and you can hear things about Bible prophecy. And the Lord has truly blessed this ministry with great radio.
Tim Moore: He really has. You know, 44 years ago when Dr. Reagan founded this ministry, he was one of very few voices that were reaching the masses, proclaiming the soon return of Jesus Christ. Many folks will remember Hal Lindsey and the message that he was proclaiming, The Late Great Planet Earth and other things. We think about Tim LaHaye, Dr. LaHaye, who was very outspoken in proclaiming the soon return of Christ. And there were others, but they were not reaching the masses. Today, there are a number of ministries who echo the same message that we do that Jesus is coming soon. And so that just thrills my heart. And of course, just this past year in 2024, Nathan, we’ve had 52 Christ in Prophecy television episodes. We’ve had 52 weekly Christ in Prophecy radio programs. If you don’t get that on your local radio station, then visit our website. You can listen to all of them. We had 262 daily prophetic moments that appear or at least are heard on radio. We had a record setting conference in Denton, Texas. You and I had multiple weekend speaking engagements and conferences around the country from Oregon and Washington and California to South Carolina, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, you name it. We were everywhere, man, this year. And we also produced our new multimedia revelation study guide, as well as two new books by David Reagan. And Nathan, you’re coming out with one this next year. The work continues, but what a glorious year it’s been to serve the Lord this year.
Nathan Jones: Well you know, when the Lord comes, He needs to see us being busy. And I say, Tim, we’ve been very busy this year. Praise God.
Tim Moore: We surely have. And you know, speaking of our sister ministries, let me just tell you this, we also are privileged to serve as a conduit of the sister ministries that are sharing God’s prophetic word, both here at home and scattered around the world with a special emphasis on ministry in Israel itself. Lamb & Lion Ministries serves as a pass through for designated dollars to all our sister ministries. And we actually set aside a portion of our own budget to pour into like-minded ministries that are just starting up, or who are co-laboring faithfully to serve the Lord and proclaim this message alongside us. And speaking of co-laboring, we could not do that without the faithful and generous support of thousands of supporters and prophecy partners. So Nathan, how can a person become a prophecy partner, partnering with us as a co-laborer for Christ?
Nathan Jones: They can go to our website at christinprophecy.org, click the donate button at the top, and folks you could join in and we’ve got information there. You could be a partner by just giving $25 a month, that’s all it takes. You can call in and you’ll get a monthly letter from Tim updating you what’s going on. We have access to all sorts of free online magazines and newsletters. Folks, we want to get you excited about Bible prophecy. And if you’re as excited as we are, then we ask you to join us as a prophecy partner.
Tim Moore: You know, the other thing that you get is actually the print version of our magazine and some free gifts. We for the last few years have made sure that our prophecy partners get a number of books that are available to them for free. And beyond that, beyond what you get, it’s the opportunity to pay it forward. If this program, if Lamb & Lion Ministries throughout the years, let alone 2024 has been a blessing to you, then we just ask you to join with us in paying it forward. Nathan, we’ve said many times the greatest impact of Lamb & Lion Ministries may come after the Rapture. And the only way we can have all of this content that is accessible by people searching for truth in a darkening world is by investing our resources right now.
Nathan Jones: Yes, I think we’re going to reach more people for Jesus after the Rapture, during the Tribulation by all the materials we’ve left behind.
Tim Moore: Well, we certainly hope that you will join with us, that you will pray for us, and that you will keep watching Christ in Prophecy. There is one more group of people that we like to highlight at least once a year. Although they are typically working behind the scenes, without them, we could not produce our Christ in Prophecy programs on TV or radio, publish and distribute magazines and books, or serve as good stewards of the blessing God pours in and through Lamb & Lion Ministries. With that in mind, we’d like to recognize the dedicated team who serve with us here at Lamb & Lion Ministries.
Closing
Tim Moore: Last year, we cited Hebrews 10:25, which says that as followers of Christ, we should encourage one another, and all the more as we see the day drawing near. Running through all of our outreach concerning the soon return of Jesus Christ is a consistent message of hope. But unlike Oprah Winfrey and the peddlers of various false gospels, we do not advocate hope in hope. Instead, we point people to our blessed hope, our soon returning King Jesus Christ. With that in mind, and with so many blessings to reflect upon and so many opportunities ahead to seize, we’d like to lift up a prayer of Thanksgiving that we have been called to serve in such a time as this and to pray that each of you watching this episode would be inspired to join us in proclaiming Jesus Christ. Nathan, would you offer a prayer on our behalf today, right now?
Nathan Jones: I’d be happy to. Well, Lord Jesus, we thank You so much that You are the God of gods, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords. We thank You so much for Your great blessings. 2024, Lord, was a very difficult year. We thank You that we saw Your blessings in so many ways. You put Your blessings on all those who’ve tuned in here to see Christ in Prophecy. We thank You for Your blessings on Lamb & Lion Ministries, Your provision and guidance. We thank You for the reprieve You gave us, Lord, at this election year. And we thank You for Your provision for the future, which gives us hope in the fact that You are coming soon. So we praise You in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Tim Moore: Amen, amen, and thank you. You know, we do pray for each of you on a regular basis, as viewers, as supporters, and we are eager to see what the Lord has in store for all of us in 2025. We hope that this will be the year Jesus comes for His Church. Certainly while we are committed to learning from the past and praising the Lord for His faithfulness that has brought us to this point, we will heed Paul’s encouragement to strain forward to what lies ahead and press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Because He is faithful to us, we are determined to remain faithful to Him.
Now as we turn the page on another new year, on behalf of all of us here at Lamb & Lion Ministries, in the name of Him who has promised to make all things new, may each of us grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, both now and to the day of eternity. Godspeed!
